The Science Behind FITT
All training adaptations are driven by the manipulation of four variables: Frequency, Intensity, Time and Type. Through changing these variables on a custom basis clients will progress and meet their goals.
Frequency
F
How often are you engaging in physical activity?

Too much activity and too little rest will increase your risk of injury and not allow you to see training progressions. On the other hand, not enough exercise will not be sufficient to lead to performance improvements. The sweet spot between these 2 extremes will ensure you safely and effectively improve.
Intensity
I
What intensity are you exercising at?
Intensity drives the volume of exercise and the adaptations in muscle fibers. For example an anaerobic athlete like a soccer player needs very different intensity training than a middle to long distance runner. From an injury protection standpoint ensuring the intensity and volume are matched appropriately will help avoid over training and injury while pushing your body to progress.
Time
T
How much time are you spending training at a set intensity?
Just like frequency and intensity too much or too little will not allow progress to be made.
Type
T
What kind of exercise are you engaging in?
The body adapts to the specific stress placed on it so it is essential for performance to train specifically for your sport or goals.
Our Services

FITT Over 50
A 12 week long program designed specifically for women in menopause.
Includes 12 weekly group sessions, taught by a strength specialist and a doctor of physical therapy, 2 physical therapy sessions, 1 strength intake, 24 app based workouts and education on everything health based to help you manage menopause.
How is training at FITT Performance different than a chain gym?
Most CPT (certified personal trainers) do not hold a formal education and most certifications simply require an online weekend coarse with an open note test that can be taken multiple times.
To hold a CSCS you much hold a BS in an exercise related field, the test is closed note at a testing center with a pass rate of 70%.
Beyond this Lexi has gone on to hold two MS in strength and conditioning and corrective exercise. The knowledge and expertise of training at FITT Performance Studio is far beyond what you will find at a chain gym.

There are a lot of people working in the fitness landscape, but Lexi is an exceptional outlier. With a MS in Exercise Science, she is uniquely qualified to work with people of all fitness levels and those with different medical histories. She is truly a pleasure to train with every week.

CUSTOM training at its core! I've worked with Lexi for almost 8 years after meeting her through my PT for a torn ACL. She helped me prep for surgery, rehab afterwards, got me back on the slopes that very next season, but then fixed a COVID stress related neck issue, created a training program for a 5 day trek in Peru, and then this summer helped me figure out how to manage and train around the challenges of learning to row on the water and use breathing techniques to regulate the nervous system and make efficient use of my air during scuba diving. She has the heart of a researcher and is not only constantly growing her own body of knowledge and surrounding herself with good referral partners for tricky questions, but she also is REALLY GOOD at educating us about the why's and the how's we need to understand to stay healthy. She shows up where YOU are (either raring to go or needing a more gentle session), is careful around pain and injury but also believes wholeheartedly people can do BIG THINGS and confidently just shows you how to make those things happen. And she seriously LOVES WHAT SHE DOES...I wonder sometimes who's been more excited to see the progress and the adventures she's seen happen since we started working together. I really can't imagine having a better coach on your side!

I cannot recommend Lexi enough for strength and conditioning coaching. As a physical therapist, she is the only coach I consistently trust with my referrals once my patients are ready for the next step in recovery, pain management, and long-term performance. She progresses people thoughtfully and appropriately, meets them where they are, and builds real strength without aggravating symptoms. If you want a coach who is detail-oriented, safe, and results-driven, Lexi is it.

Lexi is such an amazing personal trainer. She actually teaches you how to use your body correctly therefore leading to long term success as opposed to short term quick fixes. I feel stronger and more stable because of her guidance. Shes also extremely personable. You can really tell that Lexi does her profession because this is what she loves to do and she wants to see other people succeed too.

"Lexi is SO great! She does an incredible job of meeting you exactly where you are, taking your goals into account and creating the right program to get you where you want to be. I am constantly impressed by all that she knows and she is so dedicated to figuring out what works for me, even as a virtual client! She knows how to combine what you want and what you actually need - for me at least these are often two different things - while making workouts both enjoyable and challenging. I am so grateful to have Lexi as a resource!"

"I have been training with Lexi for years! She’s helped me correct chronic issues and recover from injuries. She’s been instrumental in me staying active, healthy, and happy! She’s a great collaborator. When I come with an issue in my shoulder, the combination of our 1:1, her tailored program, and my participation - poof! My shoulder is better within weeks! I can’t imagine my life without Lexi!!"

I have Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and came to Lexi with very limited ability to exercise. She met me exactly where I was—patient, knowledgeable, and incredibly encouraging. Over time, she’s helped me rebuild strength, lift weights safely, and get back into cardio. I never thought I’d feel this strong again, and I credit so much of that to Lexi’s smart, personalized approach. She’s been a true game-changer in my fitness journey!

"Going on 48 and have always been active. These are the best workouts of my life. My body strength is more balanced than ever. I have much better endurance in other activities (swimming, hiking, etc.) Lexi’s workouts are creative and fun. She adjusts the workouts to keep them challenging as my ability increases. She also adapts the workouts based on my previous injuries. Seh also provides workouts for home to keep me in shape and is very responsive when contacted for help with a set."
